The Soon to Be Famous Illinois Author Project team is thrilled to announce De la Página a la Fama, a new contest designed to showcase Illinois indie authors writing in the Spanish language.
For the past eight years, the Soon to be Famous Illinois Author Project (STBF) has leveraged the power and credibility of libraries to identify and promote excellent indie-published authors. Winners of the STBF contests have enjoyed increased exposure and book sales, library users have been introduced to some great new reads, and the relationship between local indie authors and libraries has been recognized, celebrated, and strengthened. This contest will extend the reach of STBF into the Spanish-speaking community.
Tina Viglucci, Hispanic Services Director at Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin is one of the key partners in this new initiative. She commented recently, “Our top priority is to support our independent authors writing in Spanish and connect them with our readers. We are excited to join forces with the members of HOLA, a networking group of library staff that serve Hispanics, to make sure we reach everyone who can benefit from this great new initiative.”
