Since 2015 the Indie Author Project team has partnered with libraries, curators, and indie authors from near and far in an effort to connect library patrons with great indie-published reads. Through these efforts, the Indie Author Project now boasts community members in all 50 U.S. states, all 10 Canadian provinces, and a burgeoning international presence in 26 additional countries.
Over the years the program has developed into a robust publishing community that includes the flagship year-round curation and discovery program as well as physical events like Indie Author Day and author programming support for local writers groups. The program also includes a network of annual regional indie book contests through which committees of librarians are identifying and elevating the best indie books and authors in each participating region.
