Since 2015 the Indie Author Project team has partnered with libraries, curators, and indie authors from near and far in an effort to connect library patrons with great indie-published reads. Through these efforts, the Indie Author Project now boasts community members in all 50 U.S. states, all 10 Canadian provinces, and a burgeoning international presence in 26 additional countries.
Over the years the program has developed into a robust publishing community that includes the flagship year-round curation and discovery program as well as physical events like Indie Author Day and author programming support for local writers groups. The program also includes annual indie ebook contests through which committees of librarians are identifying and elevating the best indie ebooks in the genres of Mystery/Thriller, Romance, SciFi/Fantasy, Historical Fiction, General/Contemporary Fiction, Memoir, and Young Adult.
