The 2020 Indie Author Project regional contests are here!
It’s that time of year again, the Indie Author Project regional contests are back and better than ever. The 2020 contests launch on April 1st and are being held in 14 U.S. states and one Canadian province. The Indie Author Project team is thrilled to welcome back returning participating regions, as well as newcomers Colorado, New York, and West Virginia. These contests will accept submissions of adult and YA fiction, to be recognized as the top indie-published eBooks in their region. Out of all of this year’s winners identified by librarian judging committees, one Indie Author of the Year will be chosen by a team of industry professionals.
With these contests librarians not only have the chance to engage with a growing group of diverse and exciting literary voices, but also an opportunity to play an active role in the discovery and promotion of new works.
For indie-published authors, these contests are a fantastic way to elevate their careers and expand their readership. Along with the accolade of the award, its cash prizes, and perks, being recognized by librarians creates credibility and visibility in the growing marketplace of digital content and indie-published books. Winning authors will reach hundreds if not thousands of new readers via the library, and can also leverage being an award-winning indie author for additional marketing opportunities.
The contests will run from April 1st through May 31st and authors can learn more and submit at https://indieauthorproject.librariesshare.com/iap/.

Why have you not posted the names of the 2020 contest winners? I am in Ontario and would love to see who won my region.
Hi, Mark
We’ll be posting a full article on all of the 2020 winners this week, so stay tuned! 🙂

Hi, I am an indie author out of Arizona. My book has just been released. How may I get in on the award contest for 2021?
Hi!
While we currently don’t have a contest running in Arizona, we’re working hard to connect with state libraries and Centers for the Book across North America to continue to grow the IAP contests each year. In the meantime, you’re welcome to submit your book to the Indie Author Project program to be considered for our IAP Select collection — see more at https://indeauthorproject.com/authors.
Thanks!
